For the last 12 years Mosaic has been for Seattle thriving. We want to see healthy families, restored communities, justice for all people, and Jesus to be glorified throughout our city. God has opened the door for us to buy a building which allows us to make an even bigger impact for our city. We've purchased the building but still need to raise $1.4 million by this summer to complete the necessary renovations to fulfill the vision God has called us to.
Would you join us?
THE CHURCH IN SEATTLE
The Church is God's "Plan A" to bring hope and transformation to the world. Seattle is no different; it needs the Church! But the Pacific Northwest is one of the least churched regions in our nation, and the number of people joining local churches is decreasing. The church is irrelevant to most people in Seattle. Young people especially are not interested in the Church and the older generation is passing away. Existing churches are closing, leaving, or simply surviving without any vision for change. The economy is forcing people and churches out of the city. Church buildings are consistently sold and developed for commercial purposes. Seattle desperately needs the Church but the economy is making it difficult for our church to stay.
We need your help.
NO ROOM TO GROW
We are a thriving church of about 450 people, mainly in our 20's and 30's; our demographic looks like our city. We have seen dozens of salvations and many more have found a real family at Mosaic. We are renting space in a large, old church building located in the heart of the city. But we're losing our lease and there are plans to sell the building we're currently in for over $10 million. This puts us in the same category as many churches in Seattle: being forced to leave.
However, God is doing something amazing and you can be a part.
In October 2016, we accomplished what seemed impossible. Mosaic raised $1 million dollars and purchased a building in Seattle! The building is a 10,000 sq. ft. warehouse on Hwy 99, a major arterial road into downtown, with over 76,000 cars passing it everyday. Our building is in a diverse neighborhood with young families, singles, pillar community members, and those living in poverty and working in prostitution. This is a unique location where prosperity clashes with poverty. But we can't accomplish the vision God has given us until we finish the necessary renovations and we need your help.
Just like Mosaic this building will be FOR THE CITY.
Can you imagine a building that ....
- Shares the gospel of Jesus, the hope of the world, to the city?
- Houses community dinners to feed hungry people?
- Provides a safe space for the marginalized to rest?
- Serves families with free childcare and provides parenting and marriage equipping?
- Hosts worship and pray gatherings to bring hope to the hopeless?
- Equips and trains missionaries to share the love and truth of Jesus to the world and our neighbors?
