The Bible Is The Inspired Word Of God
The Bible is the inspired Word of God and the absolute standard for Truth. The Bible exists for the purpose of people encountering Jesus. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 says, “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.”
(see also: Hebrews 4:12-13; 2 Peter 1:16-21)
The Bible was written over a 5,000 year span, in 3 different languages, by over 40 different authors, and yet it contains one central message: Jesus saves. How does that compare with “holy books” from other religions? How does knowing that affect your faith?
The Bible Is The Absolute Standard For Truth For Every Generation
Deuteronomy 6:4-9 says, “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.”

The Bible Exists For The Purpose Of People Encountering Jesus
John 5:39-40 says, “You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me, yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life.”
(see also: Romans 15:4; 1 Corinthians 10:11; 2 Timothy 3:14-15; Galatians 3:24-26)
What would change if our focus was primarily on scripture instead of Jesus?
HOW CAN YOU RESPOND?
It’s One Thing To Know About The Bible. It’s Another Thing To Apply It To Your Life
Read the Bible asking: What does this passage say? How does this lead me to pray? What do I need to obey?
Read the Bible everyday. Try a chapter from the Old & New Testament with a chapter from Psalms.
